2025 ANNUAL REVIEW & IMPACT REPORT
Building Through The Noise
A Letter from our CEO
In hindsight, I believe 2025 will be remembered as the year AI started to become commonplace in everyday work. The reality, though, was far less dramatic than the headlines suggested. Almost everyone experimented with AI. Far fewer knew where it genuinely belonged or where it could create real impact.
One study from MIT found that most organizations adopting AI saw little measurable return. That isn't an indictment of AI. It's a reminder that technology has never been the strategy. It simply amplifies what-ever strategy already exists.
We've believed for a long time that AI should reduce complexity, not create more of it. The organizations that made meaningful progress this year weren't the ones collecting the latest tools. They were the ones that thoughtfully identified where AI could create leverage.
For nonprofits, it was also a year of uncertainty. Funding pressures forced hard decisions and focused priorities. "Doing more with less" wasn't a slogan. It was a reality as donors and consumers alike fear a looming recession. Yet we watched organizations become more intentional, investing in what truly advanced their mission and letting go of what didn't.
That shaped our work throughout the year. We helped clients simplify complex digital systems, improve accessibility and foundations of their websites, and adopt AI with purpose instead of pressure. Every recommendation came back to one question: Does this help people? If the answer wasn't clear, neither was the investment.
As I reflect on the year, I return to one question: Are we protecting the way things have always been, or are we also thoughtfully building what comes next?
