Since 2014, Causelabs has been continually striving for social and environmental sustainability. This year, we are participating in the 2018 Inclusive Economy Challenge.
Each year, B Lab issues a call to the certified B Corp community to take the Inclusive Economy Challenge in order to improve our collective impact and to continue working toward an inclusive economy. We accept this challenge as a continuation of our journey to becoming best for the world.
This year, after reviewing our Impact Assessment, CauseLabs has decided to focus on the following three areas:
- Diversity & Inclusion
- Environmental Sustainability
- Supply Chain Transparency
Our plans for Diversity & Inclusion improvements will begin with implementing Diversity & Inclusion Training for all staff on a yearly basis. Our goal is to increase awareness, promote open discussions, and provide opportunities within the team to continue to improve upon the roles we play as a company who supports diversity and inclusion.
When it comes to the environment, being a remote team cuts out commuting, but there are other areas that we still need to address and we look forward to diving deeper into this initiative in 2018. We will create a Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the company. Once created we will shape our 2019 goals, creating strategies and plans to improve our carbon footprint based on the data gleaned in 2018.
There are a variety of suppliers that we use across our company. This year, we will create and implement a Supplier Survey to learn even more about our vendors. Our goal is to better understand our supply chain, provide transparency, and to further our mission to create positive impact by improving partnerships with aligned companies.
We have submitted these goals as our Q1 Progress Report and will post our Q2 progress in the coming months!
